Can thinner, cheaper glass be used instead of 33mm?

Some smaller sized projects may be able to use thinner panes commonly 31.5mm or 25.5mm. These are made from 2 glass layers and a single interlayer reducing the level of ‘safety net’ performance provided by the second interlayer. There are some cost savings as there are fewer parts and less processes involved making 2 ply panels instead of 3 ply but for the correct applications these specifications are perfectly fine.
